Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 7, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect on debugit, how we use it, and the rights you have regarding that data.

What We Collect

When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive basic profile information such as your name, email address, and avatar. This is used to create your debugit account.

We also collect anonymous usage data — like which pages are visited or which features are used — to help us understand how the platform is used and improve it. For this, we use PostHog analytics, which runs without using cookies.

If you're logged in and submit a solution to a problem, we store it so you can track your progress.

How We Use Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Authenticate and manage your account
  • Save your progress and preferences
  • Improve the platform through usage insights
  • Prevent abuse and ensure performance

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We may use trusted third-party services (such as authentication, analytics, payments or hosting) to run the platform. These providers process limited personal data on our behalf. We use PostHog for analytics, which does not use cookies.

Cookies

We use cookies only for authentication — to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use cookies for analytics or tracking. If you disable cookies, some features may not work properly.

Data Retention

Your data is stored as long as your account is active. You can request to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Children's Privacy

debugit is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If we become aware that we have collected such data without parental consent, we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be reflected on this page.
